We are a medical device engineering specialists
We help medical device startups get to their next milestone. We have been working with MedTech industry leaders and on most advanced scientific projects around the globe for 20 years. Our team of 220 engineers helps startups from planning to developing their device and making sure it’s certified for the targeted market.
We have been writing our legacy since 1996
We are a part of Cosylab – the world’s leading provider of control systems for the planet’s most complex machines; nuclear accelerators, optical and radio telescopes, fusion reactors, cancer therapy systems, and much more. We draw from a large pool of in-house engineers for software and hardware, mechanical engineers, manufacturing and machine-building experts, physicists, mathematicians, and medical experts.
At the Institute Jozef Stefan (IJS), the largest research institute in Slovenia, Dr. Mark Pleško forms a group of enthusiasts to develop a control system for ANKA, a German particle accelerator.
The IJS group forms its own company, Cosylab. Cosylab specialises in control systems for the planet’s most complex machines; nuclear accelerators, optical and radio telescopes, fusion reactors, cancer therapy systems, and much more.
Cosylab attains its first quality assurance certificate – ISO9001
Cosylab has over 250 successfully finished projects with customers from the most prestigious research institutes from all around the world, such as CERN nuclear accelerator, ITER fusion reactor, ALMA radio telescope array, and many more.
Cosylab starts developing software for medical devices, with an integral focus on software for proton therapy.
Cosylab attains the ISO13485 medical devices quality management standard.
Cosylab starts developing a products suite of software that covers all areas of oncology treatment; from accelerator control, imaging, and motion control to patient treatment.
Cosylab has 150 employees in six branches worldwide.
The majority of proton therapy vendors, including the largest, Varian, are using Cosylab medical device software solutions. At the same time, Cosylab is offering its services and custom solutions to the world’s leading clinics, such as Harvard’s MGH in USA, MedAustron Institute in Austria, and PSI in Switzerland.
Cosylab announces a new initiative, the ArrowFast Medical Device Engineering, which empowers startups to develop their new medical devices faster and more accurately, solves complexity behind the development, and brings the result – a certified medical device, in time.
